I’m not gonna lie, I love seeing my couples invites before the wedding. when I’m expecting bills and junk mail they bring a smile to my face. it tells me a little bit about them, what colors to expect, and decor. catherine’s notes (on UofM stationary) when these arrived included their rehearsal dinner invite (for all of their out-of-state) guests, their save the date (ordered online “nothing special”), and their formal invitations by Handmade by Pink out of chicago. they were gorgeous, simple, and elegant.
plan b? nope, we’re gonna stick with plan a. saugatuck on saturday was a little wet…as in water running down your nose, if blown off, could splash your neighbor wet. I overheard one of their guests say “that old wives tale of rain on your wedding? I think someone made that up to keep their bride happy.” I think that’s a fare statement. *giggle* catherine said rain or shine, I still want my outdoor wedding. and she did, overlooking a sea of colorful umbrellas. other than a little rain, andy and catherine’s wedding day could not have been more perfect. congrats!
these two are in greece for eight days. I can’t hardly wait to see the images they return with!
there’s a first for everything… a month ago when I was headed to stevensville for elija and anya’s 2 year pictures. it snowed. really MI? conflict of calendars made rescheduling a challenge, well, till a friday night when their mom was at work. I approached rosanna, long time friend and these gorgeous kidlets mom, about their session while she was at work. “are you kidding me?” was part of the conversation.lol yes, steal your children and your vehicle. brian, their dad, handed me the keys with a smile on his face and we were off!

special thanks to Jodi, my 2nd shooter, for coming down a day early (saturday wedding), and assisting with this fun bunch. assisting: turning dead leaves into “birdies” and teaching elija how to get his hands stuck in his pockets….and a whole lot of laughter.

as if everyone isn’t completely over the snow, I figured I’d drawl it out another day or two! :bailing now into hiding:
mandy and jeff are not locals to michigan, but their wedding will be here in another month. hoping for that perfect summer day in june, they pushed through (literally…okay, mandy had a little help) their engagement session in the snow. separate consults via phone, I already knew these two. after talking to mandy, jeff was curious if she was bringing on another bridesmaid. jeff called me a couple days later. personalities instantly clicked. I’m looking forward to their day for a couple reasons. one, because my new friends are talking this glorious step together and two, because I can’t wait for summer!

Nikon D300. Excellent working condition. Sensor is clean. Actuations: 54,418. $900
This camera comes with original packaging, manuals, cords, battery, battery charger, sensor cover, original strap, and a brand new package of sensor swabs ($45).
There is a crack in the top plastic plate. It’s been there since 08/2009. Nikon support said to not bother with it since you can see all info and it does not hinder function….they then quoted $200.

when rick emailed me from afghanistan to let me know he was coming home for a couple weeks I could not wait to see these two. tarah and rick started as clients and have become friends over the past couple years. I’m going to categorize their session as yes! even though they were married September 2009. here is their belated engagement session… *giggle*

catherine and andy are going to blink and their may wedding will be here. they came up from chicago on a very bitter evening for their session followed by cake testing a few weeks ago. since all of our corospondance had been over the phone and email it was amazing to finally meet, stroll through rockford, and warm up after with coffee and hear about all of their plans in person.

can’t wait to see you both in a few weeks!!!
