Congratulations Will & Sara!

Saturday’s wedding took place at Mayfair Christian Reformed Church in Grand Rapids with the reception at English Hills Terrace in Comstock Park.

The weather could not have been more perfect for November, a duplicate of Friday. Pictures started at the church with a brief stop at Aquinas College. Their celebration was in full swing once the newlyweds arrived at English Hills with over 250 guests awaiting their arrival!
A year ago I had the opportunity of photographing Sara’s extended family…and let me tell you, that was the largest family I have shot at one time. The “kids” that day were her mother’s siblings. It was wonderful being able to catch-up with everyone to hear about all the changes that can happen in just one year.

Congratulations George & Jeralyn!

And who said a non-traditional bride doesn’t want traditional pictures? Hmmmm… (you had to have known we’d give you a hard time!)

George and Jeralyn were married on Friday afternoon at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church downtown Grand Rapids. Absolutely breathtaking. Jers was up for anything and with the incredible November weather we took full advantage of being outdoors. Reception was at the Radisson Hotel immediately following the ceremony. It was great listening to old college friends catch up while celebrating George and Jeralyn’s new life. Simply “PERF!”

A little description on the picture above. Jeralyn’s parents and grandparents were both married at St. Mary’s. The one required shot of the day was taken at the only location in the church that has not changed in 150 years. The same location and pose to add to their family history.
Something I learned Friday… Did you know you can FAKE a CAKE?

Congratulations Chris & Sara!

Chris and Sara were married at Vergennes United Methodist in Lowell. Simple and beautiful. Reception followed at Townsend Park at the enclosed pavilion. Such a cozy atmosphere. Light from the fireplace, candle light, and white lights…very romantic. Thank you for making me a part of your day.

Enjoy your honeymoon in the mountains!

Senior: Zak

I never should have said I was taking the weekend off. Friday’s weather at 80% rain pushed my senior shoot with Zak into Saturday morning. Everything was perfect. Location was his backyard and the weekend at peak color.

10.18.2007: October Storms

I LOVE storms! I love the light flash, the cracks, the power flickering on and off (and LOVE when it comes back on), and the unexpected. To the west of our home is the best. There is always something crazy going on. The sky rarely looks the same to the east. After getting the kids to bed (or thought I had the kids to bed) I grabbed my equipment and headed outside. Shot two images and it started pouring. Both umbrellas found the black hole in our house so I was running for the door. Yup, got my shot!

10.18.2007: Busy, busy, busy…

Thursday morning I had an appointment with Camden at Townsend Park. The weather did not cooperate, raining the entire time we had scheduled and mom was set on fall color. The alternative time was for Sunday, but the sun came out and after his afternoon nap we were ready to run! Yes, RUN was the key word! Camden is one curious, busy little man!

Kyla Ewen

Thank you Leda! We had a great time at the Park. Bailey can’t stop talking about playing with her friends Tyler and Nyla! I can’t wait to see more of Camden.

Congratulations Chad & Lindsy!

Saturday’s ceremony did not leave a dry eye in the church. Chad’s passion for Lindsy is amazing and he definitely wore his heart on his sleeve for their family and friends to witness. Ceremony was at New Community Church with reception at the Casino Club in Grand Rapids.

This bridal party was a lot of fun, although pictures after the ceremony was the last on their minds. They had priorities…there’s not a single picture to show those!

Oh, and if Lindsy’s dress has one little spot of dirt on it I would be shocked!lol This not so girly-girl became quite girly on her wedding day!
