today, february 1, 2012 through 6pm (est) saturday, february 14, 2012 brides and grooms have the opportunity to make their sweetest day a little bit sweeter. a $200 savings on their wedding investment will be applied. here’s the requirements….

these two are super cute. katie admitted she had her eye on chris when they were in middle school. his family moved away (one town over, and different school) and they bumped back into each other in high school. katie made sure he didn’t get away a second time. katie is one of those people that is in constant motion. chris grounds her, and you can tell he’s entertained by his constant smile. the details that arrived with them for their engagement session was so fun. it has me looking forward to all of the details going into their wedding this coming season!

see you two in june, if not sooner!!!

winter mackinac island weddings have got to be the most romantic and exciting weddings. ever. note below, fourteen degree weather. the taxis took all of nicole and andrews family and friends from st. mary’s (near town), up to the woods (past the inn at stonecliffe). to beat the horses we rode snowmobile, with gear strapped to our bodies. if you can’t wear it, it doesn’t go…remember that when you see the rockin lighting farther down. our snowmobile driver, fourteen years old. fourteen years old! instant trust.

are they not the cutest? nicole is a trooper.

the woods. amazing!!! nicole did not miss a single detail…

see this room?! the doors beyond the chandeliers had two more rooms filled with guests. the door to the left, with the lights strung around it, another packed room. service and dinner was flawless.

nicole and andrew, happy one year anniversary…yesterday! adore you two! thank you for inviting us up to your little frozen land mass to experience your perfect wedding day!

mackinac island in december, YES PLEASE. andrew and nicole are year-round island residents, owning two completely different/amazing businesses on main street. nicole is a planner….winter boots, hot chocolate, sleigh ride. their wedding was an adventure I’d hit repeat on every year, if I could. 14 degrees and wind really isn’t that bad when you’ve planned ahead.
mission point is closed. heat is on. if you need linens, there is a closet in every hallway.

nicole and her ladies spent the morning at mission point. nicole is so incredibly sweet. she is one of those people you feel like you’ve known forever, so it doesn’t surprise me that the ladies she surrounds herself with are exactly the same. the laughter in the ladies suite was contagious, and the volume amplified after her aunts showed up and started popping campaign bottles. being a fly on the wall, it was great entertainment.

the image below, upper left hand corner. quite possibly one of my favorite images from 2010. this is just how amazing her friends are. nicole seemed so relaxed all morning. after her dress was slipped on, the reality of the day hit. support is not just one hand, but both.

on mackinaw island in december your feet are your means of travel, unless you’re a local with a snowmobile, or sweet-talking-eyelash-batting photographers (HUGE thank you to the locals that were caught off guard, and ready to assist in an instant, to the sweet-talking-eyelash-batting photographers). horses head back to the main land after season, with the exception of the few that arrived back onto the island to assist family and guests on the perfect wedding day.

andrew got ready with his guys in the apartment located above his market. he’s one of the most down to earth, do anything for anyone, shy (in front of a camera) guys you will ever meet.

thank you to lisa kae who hung with the guys, and totally rocked the entire day. keeping busy may have just been means of staying warm, but the details were amazing. keep your eyes open for part II on friday!

I LOVE winter weddings. LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. praying all last week for snow, mother nature didn’t come through. the bitter cold, yes, but crystal mountain delivered. when these two told their wedding party they were going “destination” they got excited…sun and sand right? nope. ben and erica love snowboarding, and one of their first dates was on the slopes. their black and white wedding, with pops of red was perfect. yes I dragged them out (quickly), open-toed shoes and all, into the snow. their wedding party is the best! LOVE you ladies!!!!!

now enjoying sun and sand in st. lucia <- alone. ha ha hahaha. thank you for making us a part of your day!

best quote of the day… chris: “you are not the head chef this morning.” YES! *giggle* jennifer, of jm studios, dropped rank to sous chef. anytime you step into another professionals kitchen and cook them a meal, it’s a little intimidating…not.gonna.lie. add pouring rain. the upside to photographing another pros family? they are more relaxed about not having a location till 9pm the night before, the weather, willingness to wait out the rain (at breakfast!), and the added bonus is amazing color. meet the super cute fujawa family!
