“we fell in love over a lizard.” how many people do you know that can say that?

cris and I have been friends for (cringing as I admit this, since I’m still 24) about thirty years. she was my closest, bike-rideable, adventure seeking, fight with like a sister, dance in the driveway like rockstars to heart, and climb ice waves on lake MI, neighbor as a kid. I won’t even go into the bad hair styles and cris’s red/white/blue coka-cola shirt with matching socks under her tight-rolled skinny jeans, and eye shadow. we went all through school together. she’s one of those friends that even though she moved to cali ten years ago we can still pick-up where we left off. now after all the above info….she’s back in CA, and I’m HERE. *giggle* and damon…we met for the first time on friday. damon will definitely keep this adventure seeking rockstar on her toes. I can see it. after waiting out the severe storms we started the morning at the family farm then moved into downtown benton harbor. the colors, delicious. the laughter, contagious.

congratulations old friend and new friend! I hope you think of me as you’re making your plans for costa rica! :wink wink:

sisters | brynn & adelyn

brynn, age 2, brought her little sister adelyn into the studio with her. after only a handful of minutes it was confirmed this little lady needed to run. two is all about discovery, and miss brynn has that mastered…along with silliness. when told to “run away” she didn’t even hesitate. she was off!!!   I :heart: two.
…and lady adelyn. this little woman is only one month old. she’s going to need to keep up with her busy older sister. at one month she’s mastered constant movement, only cat-napping briefly on mom. simply precious.

jeremy and abbie were married at snow moon ranch earlier this month. this event was not mine, it was a past bride and good friend Kendra’s gig. I have to admit, it’s kinda nice stepping in as a 2nd shooter sometimes. their day was fabulous. and the location…I would LOVE to go back (closed-toed shoes next time though)! Congrats Jeremy and Abbie!!!

10 months | aiden

there are clients you click with. some become family. introducing them on the blog seems repetitive. but if you’re a newbie here, meet aiden. he is the most perfect child, and I’m not just saying that…he really is, just ask his family. when he travels in from D.C. he comes to see me….I think he still would even with out his amazing parents. saying good-bye always bites, but I know I’ll see them when their back in MI next, and I’m quite certain their next visit he will run away while smiling and laughing. I’ll wait.

ben and deb said their vows in the mayan riviera in may. dream location. they then celebrated their marriage locally in IL (home for ben) and then in MI (deb’s home). I’m quite certain that the mayan riviera could never compete with the breath-taking woods of bertha brock park…okay maybe it could, the mosquito’s at bertha brock could potentially be the same size as the mammals in the caribbean sea.

the ladies in a butter cream yellow, the guys in red. add that to the seasonal blooms at southern exposure herb farm, kate and ryan’s branding and the day was 100% eye candy. kate and ryan are one of those couples that you feel like you’ve known forever. they kept their guest list very intimate, and focused on every single close friend and family member present. their day was one of those days that could be replayed over and over and would still keep you asking for more.
these two made the dance floor look like they were floating on air. congrats newlyweds!
ps… if you are a bride+groom looking for a venue, check this place out. it might possibly be my #1 venue pick EVER, so please, bring me back there! this staff deserves an award for best customer service, organization, communication, food (I’m talkin all fresh herbs from their grounds), and the location is only minutes off US131.

I have to admit, I receive A-LOT of invites. :smiles: what I love is that I get a sneak peek of how their day will feel, what details they have brought in to play, and the colors….oh, I love the colors! kate+ryan said their “i do’s” at an herb garden (blog post to come soon!). I knew their colors would be a bit bolder, taking advantage of all the naturalness of blooming spring flowers.
christina+mike will be on the lake. their rsvp’s made me giggle. they are one of my fabulous up coming summer weddings. I’m envisioning softer, more neutral tones, and candlelight. can’t wait to find out!
